Amigurumi Crochet Book: Nativity Scene — 18 Christmas Figures to Crochet

There are decorations you buy and decorations that have a story to tell. This book belongs to the latter: an entire nativity scene crafted by your own hands, ball of yarn by ball of yarn, which you will place on the table every December knowing exactly how much love is woven into it.

What you will knit

Eighteen amigurumi patterns that make up a complete nativity set:

• Mary and Joseph with Baby Jesus in the manger
• The ox and the donkey
• The angels and the Star of Bethlehem
• Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar
• The shepherds with their sheep
• And as a bonus, the camels and a couple of palm trees to complete the scene

Who it is for

For anyone who knows (or wants to learn) the four basic notions of crochet. The projects are deliberately simple: small pieces, little yarn, quick results. If you have never made an amigurumi, the book opens with explanations of all the stitches you will need. If you already knit, it is the perfect weekend project set.

How each pattern is structured

Each figure includes its list of materials, step-by-step instructions, and photographs of the result. No nonsense and no need to look for anything outside the book.

About the author

Christel Krukkert has published over 25 crochet books and sold more than 200,000 copies in the Netherlands and Flanders. Her community of over 35,000 followers gives a clue as to why: her patterns work the first time.

An idea

Knit one figure a day during Advent. By Christmas Eve, you will have the nativity set up and, in the process, a new ritual. It is also an excellent gift for someone who already has everything except for well-spent time.
